This is a 2nd announcement and call for papers for the workshop.


##### Workshop Site #####
The workshop will be held at the Osaka University Convention Center.
It is located in the Suita campus of Osaka Univ.

##### Program #####
The program agenda is expected to be as follows:

Monday Sept. 9: 13:00 - Opening
13:15 - 16:50 Presentations
19:00 - Banquet

Tuesday Sept. 10: 09:15 - 11:35 Presentations
13:15 - 15:35 Presentations
15:50 - 16:50 Panel discussion

Wednesday Sept. 11: 09:15 - 10:05 Presentations
10:20 - 11:20 Panel discussion
11:20 - Closing

All presentations will be oral. The time allocated for each presentation
is 25 minutes, including the time for questions and discussions.
Besides the individual presentations, the workshop will include two
one-hour panel discussion sessions.

Both an overhead projector and a LC projector are available.
We are going to arrange some PCs (MS-Windows?) at the workshop site,
but we recommend those who plan to give presentations by Powerpoint
should bring their own PCs as well as alternative transparencies
to be prepared for unforeseeable circumstances.

We still have a few extra slots for oral presentation.


##### Proceedings #####
All contributed papers will be printed as the proceedings of the US-Japan workshop
and will be distributed to all participants of the workshop. Papers must be
received by 30 September. The contributed papers will be also published on
the workshop web site. Therefore, electronic transmission in PDF format to
<ysmr_aou1@ppl.eng.osaka-u.ac.jp> is strongly preferred. MS-Word and LaTeX
files are also available. The page number of the full paper is allowed to be 4-8,
including figures, tables, and references.

##### Registration #####
Please complete the registration form below and send it to
<inomoto@ppl.eng.osaka-u.ac.jp> by August 5th.
The registration fee will be 10 thousand yen (5 thousand yen for students).
It includes the cost of hand-outs, refreshments, proceedings and
banquet(scheduled on Monday evening).


##### Abstract #####
Abstracts must be received by August 12th.
The abstract should be one page (A4 or Letter size), single-spaced,
12-point times-roman font. Electronic transmission to
<inomoto@ppl.eng.osaka-u.ac.jp> in plain text format or a Microsoft
Word file is strongly preferred.


##### Hotel Reservation #####
We are preparing the hotel near the workshop site (Hotel Mare Minami-Senri).
Rates for single room are 7,000 yen(with breakfast), 6,468 yen(without breakfast).
From the hotel to the conference place, take Hankyu Railway to Kita-Senri station
(5min), then walk to the campus (15-20min).
